If there’s one thing we took away from the winter shows in Paris, it’s that military chic is back with a vengeance, and served as inspiration for many of fashion week’s most notable looks. Considering the breadth of designers who embraced the trend in its numerous iterations, we’ve concluded that there’s simply no wrong way to do it.
Satin dresses were paired with heeled combat boots at Louis Vuitton. Camouflage leggings contrasted dainty stilettos at DSquared2. Yeezy embraced khaki green in a distressed knit mini-dress, while Rag & Bone opted for a sleek, maxi version. Traditional trenches were styled simply by Marni, and more eclectic variations were seen at Maison Margiela and Prada. Perhaps most outstanding were the multiple nods to the embellished dress uniform seen at Gucci, Valentino, Givenchy, and Dolce & Gabbana, among others.
