Chicago native Sarah Slutsky has lent her editorial and styling talents to powerhouse publications and brands from the likes of Vogue, Tory Burch, Madewell,
and The Editorialist. Just 29 years old and already a fashion industry maven, Slutsky is
responsible for styling looks for red carpet "best dressed" list
frequenters including Emma Watson, Elizabeth Olsen,
Sophie Okonedo, Jessica Williams, and more.
In addition to
styling, Sarah also helped launch Cinematique, a tech
startup that makes videos touchable, explorable, and
shoppable for clients including Net-a-Porter, Nowness,
Gap, Stella McCartney, and more. She is also the founder of Blocked NYC, which is a visual exploration of New York City, showcasing the best establishment on each and every block of the grid.
Between styling celebs, driving editorial for fashion magazines, and exploring every inch of the chicness within The Big Apple, Slutsky knows a thing or two about dressing the part—especially to survive fashion week (and even attract the attention of the paparazzi while you're at it).
Below, Slutsky outlines the pieces that will cause a flash outside the shows, and keep you comfy while you're running between them. Keep calm and strike a pose...

"Sometimes (especially when it’s HOT), a good tee is all I need. Paired with a great jean or flowing skirt and a block heel sandal, this tee gives me lots of options for whatever my mood. During NYFW, if I opt for a heel, it’s important that they are as comfy as possible. The block heel on these sandals provides enough extra support and the strap helps keep me in them when running from place to place." - SS
"Western is not a trend as far as I’m concerned. Alongside boots, good denim, and a bolero (did I mention I love boleros?), this top is a natural pick to add to my Western assortment. This high waisted, cropped flare jean is also a must-have for me. They offer a variation on a classic look and with a silk blouse feel funky and dressed up, but just as easily go with me upstate to relax once fashion week is complete." - SS
"Nothing like a floral pop pouch to bring any look to life. I love the bright orange—these flowers remind meet keep smiling at the end of a long day! Flats are also essential to get through long days during NYFW. I love the playful nature of this Gucci. To me, metallics are a neutral, so these pair perfectly with just about everything!" - SS
"Pamela Love is a favorite of mine for jewelry. I tend to veer towards dainty pieces, but these strike the right balance of just enough drama with the length and color. As for these kicks, it’s all about lasting on your feet for the full day, and a chunky heel or platform offers the benefit of extra height to someone my size (5’2”)." - SS
