Suede is not synonymous with summer, and may in fact be the sartorial equivalent of a crackling fire and cup of hot cocoa. But of course contradiction is trending these days, and if one can wear florals with stripes, or sneakers with a dress, one can surely wear suede in August.
Warm-weather silhouettes constructed of earth-toned suedes were kind of a big deal at the spring shows, adding some playful bohemian texture to the typically flowing fabrics and flowery pastels of the warmer months. And while there’s no denying that we love a good trend, the best part of summer suede is that it easily doubles as fall apparel as well.
Pair skirts and shorts with cashmere tights, or layer a turtleneck under a suede sheath dress to add some seasonal warmth while simultaneously getting a little more bang for your buck!
